Things to do to improve my new transit
Options
2004 reg mk6 low roof transit....just bought and hoping to fall in love with it(well il need to like it as hoping to use daily for next 3 or 4 years for work!) So wanting it in good condition and make it a joy to drive so i keep it clean and tidy and it does last long.
So far all iv got to is got a seat cover...Its ply lined in the back but looking at putting in shelves aswel.
Had a look on transit forum and all it came up with was mk7 transit van hubcaps, cd player + extra upgraded speakers, new lights(not that keen on mucking about with stuff like this especially this time of year)
Apparently engine wise i should clean out oil and put in new, good stuff...and change the filter? Also read a bit about remapping?
Any other ideas....?

Don't bother with remaps, alloys and all that rubbish. Just service it well.0 -

Maybe he just wants it to look nice incase he goes cruising with the boy racers? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
nothing wrong with having a nice clean and tidy van. ive got an 08 transit supplied by work,i try my best to keep it good. it annoys me when i see the other guys not giving a f**k about thiers.
be wary of fitting alloys, they will need to be van wheels that can take the load. best bet is the new style wheel trims.
a good remap might cost you a few hundred quid, but if your using it for 4 years then you could save quite a bit of cash on fuel if its remapped properly.
the only bad points im aware of about your shape transit is fuel pumps leaking internally and fuel running back to the tank over night and not starting in the morning. and the starter motor is a pain to replace apparently.
everyone comments on how clean my van is inside, folk do notice, they usually expect it to be like any works van inside.
a small mod ive done to mine is ive fitted LED lights under the seats shining into the foot wells and shining onto the steps and outside to help see in the winter when im working around it.
it came standard with the bluetooth/voice controlled stereo so my phone connects to it,that is pretty good. you can get aftermarket bluetooth stereos but i don't know what they are like....work permit granted!0 -
Fair play if you want a tidy van to be the face of your business - plenty don't bother and don't realise the effect it has on potential customers0

How about interior cab carpet, dash trim kits, wind deflectors for the windows, side steps, the list does go on, heres a website to give you ideas, most of the stuff would be beter bought from ebay as it will be cheaper. http://www.vanstyle.co.uk/shop/index.php/cPath/2_252_365_3680
