How long was it before you got your Santander £100 switching incentive?

I set up my Santander banking, meeting the criteria to bag the £100 switching incentive. This would've been about 2 months ago (without logging in & getting specific dates).

I did similar with first direct & they were quite quick to pay up.

I know you had to meet the criteria for Santander within 11 weeks, so i wonder if they'd pay on the 12th week, even if you meet the criteria on the 1st week.

Just wondering what your experience was of receiving the £100 & when.

Thanks.

Around 15 weeks when I transferred to them, as far as I can recall.

I chased them. They apologised, said it would go in and it didn't. I chased again, made a complaint and then they said I wasn't going to get it.

This was ridiculous as I met all conditions and they eventually paid it after a ridiculous phone call where I was virtually made to admit to opening it purely to get the £100.

3 months after opening, 12-Jan to 12-Apr. Now to start winding down the account. It's annoying bank transfers done on the internet banking always go by BACS.

    Sounds fun.

And surely it isn't their business WHY you open an account, just that you have opened an account??

Wouldn't bother me admitting it. Yes i opened it solely for that reason .... and what?? I certainly didn't open it for their customer service.

What does this show up as on your statement?

When i had this with first direct, it showed up as joining incentive or joining bonus, something to that effect.

Right now i've seen a £100 entry & described as "statement adjustment". It can surely only be the joining incentive ??

My payment appeared on the statement as:

BANK GIRO CREDIT REF 100 INCENTIVE

This was in October, mind, so the text used may have changed in the interim.
