paypal resolution centre problems

I won't bore you with all the details but.....
bought an item off ebay about £400 using paypal.
when received it was "significantly not as described" or whatever the wording is
The item is over 7 years old/ not 18 months as described... confirmed with manufacturer... they haven't used that component for 7 years etc
It is 17" not 18" as described... plus a lot more.
The seller is claiming "black is white"... some amazing stuff... and also has in P&P etc " will accept return if doesn't fit horse"... but says because I didn't mention that in first email it no longer applies !!!!
BUT before I can get my evidence in to the Paypal resolution centre it has quickly moved to " our expert is assessing the evidence and will make decision soon etc" or whatever the wording.
You cannot contact the resolution centre and cannot send them email to add to evidence
HELP !!!!!!
I am well used to small claims court (got £10k back in bank charges)
so I might be there soon.... how do I stop Paypal rushing to judgement
will phone them again tomorrow (Philipines and not open in evening/weekends)

I have just been through the Paypal resolution centre and had the same thing.

Once the seller had responded to my initial dispute it simply said 'being reviewed by Paypal'

They did however contact me about a week later to request evidence and then about 4 days after that I received an email saying my claim had been accepted.

Now waiting for payment to be refunded though. The annoying this is having to return the item at cost to yourself (in my case £35) so even though you get the full payment amount back you will still be out of poscket for return postage.
  • Had dealings in the past with the Paypal Resolution Centre.

It takes a little bit of time whilst waiting for responses etc but I got my money back. Despite having the pay the postage again it is worth it.

Just hang in there. Once Paypal have seen the evidence etc I'm sure you will be awarded the refund.
  • Paypal do take their time but as others have said it is worth waiting, the sellers funds will be held so the money will not be going any where, another option now is the eBay resolution centre.
  • thanks for all you replies..... after very frustrating communication with speak-your weight machine Paypal, I started to talk to real human beings and will be getting my money back from Paypal. It is very annoying that I will be out of pocket after "winning" a fraudulent auction. It's only £20 but really annoying. I will take great delight in giving the seller the worst feedback I can get away with.
    thanks again

£20 for a return is expensive. What are the weight and measurements?

Be careful with your feedback, if it breaches policy it will be removed and you could be the same!
