to send Mr Spandles to the supermarket and he bought a packet of Pitta breads instead of nann breads - what can I do with the the Pitta breads.
I would like to make something hot with them???
Many thanks,
PS have always been unsuccessful with Pittas in the past, so I would be grateful for detailed, basic advice!!:o

I would simply lightly toast them and serve with whatever you were serving the nan breads with. 1 minute or so on eash side - I tend to use them with my spinach and potato curry.0

Wet them and bung them under the grill.
Pop them in the toaster as described above and cut open and insert filling of your choice.0 -

Hi spandles
I'd save them and use them as alternatives for sandwiches at lunch time. If you want something hot with them they are lovely filled with salad and oven roasted veg (onion, garlic, peppers, mushroms, courgette and tomatoes all drizzled with olive oil and roasted in a hot oven) or salad and stirfried beef or chicken in a pepper sauce.
This thread has lots of ideas: What Do You Put In Your Pitta Bread?
I'll add your thread to it once you've had more replies, to keep the suggestions together.

I think he has done you a favour really, he's expanded your food knowledge for a start.
I'm going to buy some and try some of the suggestions on here.
Thanks for that, and thank him too.:Dmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I live pittas stuffed with felafel and hummus or grilled halloumi with some chilli sauce and salad veg. Anything a naan could do, so can a pitta. I think they'd make a fine substitute0

Heh, my OH did that last summer - I just used them for my work sandwiches for the next couple of days.2011 Wins : Models own makeup product, Photoplusx4 software:j Mens hair dye :rotfl:0

We always use pita with kebabs (on a stick not icky kebabs) with halloumi and have salad and tatziki as side. Tatziki is really easy to make from fresh too. Perfect for bbq weather

Spread with a bit of ketchup, sprinkle with cheese and put under the grill for a few minutes.
Easy cheesy pizza in minutes. My kids love these.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

I love pittas! We make HM chicken kebabs. Lovely fresh salad, griddled chicken and chilli sauce!
I also like them a curry!
