Viczxy - did you click on the link and read that entire thread? It was actually a link - you might have missed it - I did the first time.
Anyway - can the police help you at all? I presume if you make a complaint to the police and get it logged officially as harrassment then the phone company could bar the number(s) - surely in this day and age they can do something?
Anyway hope you get it sorted soon - if not you might need to change your number of turn your phone off for a bit if it all gets too much :(

Perhaps they will take you to court? Maybe then the judge would read them the riot act and tell them to stop harrassing you. They may then be forced to accept the payments you're offering them. Grrr.

Mercers were a nightmare with me and even sent a doorstep collector who got told in no uncertain terms to sling his hook.

I sent them a telephone harrassment letter which they ignored and then I wrote to their complaints department and demanded they remove my phone numbers from their records. I copied in Trading Standards. After a while the phone calls stopped but I guess they just got bored with me not answering the phone and speaking to my answerphone. They did the texting trick with me too I changed my SIM card as I am PAYG so they were messaging a SIM card in my kitchen drawer!

The did eventually calm down and leave me alone and accept my payments but it takes a bit of time with them. You may just need to ride the storm with them for a while.

BTW, Mercers are Barclaycard. They are Barclaycard's in house collections team.

It took about 6 months to get rid and that was after I told their doorstep person to s*d off in no uncertain terms and they went quiet after that.

I only think they sent the doorstop meat head as I'm female and live on my own.

They'll spout all sorts at you...just spout back. They are mainly full of hot air.

Unlikely they will take you to court, will probably cost them more money than you owe with no guarantee of getting anything back. As mentioned already, if they did, let them, the judge will probably look favourably on you as you are paying all you can afford. I challenged them to do it and they funnily accepted my payments and went quiet after that...for 3 years!

Ill try that thanks! Theyve already sent their meat head around a couple of months back, he kept putting spiteful little notes through my door saying things like ' I know you are in there & not answering the door Victoria! I will keep coming back until you speak to me' More fool him- he was doing a 46 mile roundtrip twice a week to collect a grand total of £29! lol x

Trading Standards might be interested to see their current tactics - little notes - ridiculous. I hope you've got them somewhere safe. I'm sure a court judge would love to see them as well.
Sorry I can't be more help but I hope you get them sorted.
