Seller has to pack the item and then when the buyer claims it is broken on delivery, the seller ends up out of pocket as the courier company contract is with the buyer not the seller.

I'm not daft enough to wait 4 hours beyond an agreed collection time for a personal collection. Also, the possibility of a courier bringing their own packing and boxing materials and to carry it safely to a single point of delivery, rather than a hub, and be persuaded into bringing cash is pretty remote.
