Sold a heavy item as "collection only" and buyer wants to arrange a courier

I fail to see the problem. What is the difference between waiting for a courier and waiting for the buyer? If it was my mate who had won it I can guarantee you that if he said he'd be there by 11am it'd be more like 3pm-4pm before he turned up. Many people are the same.
Seller has to pack the item and then when the buyer claims it is broken on delivery, the seller ends up out of pocket as the courier company contract is with the buyer not the seller.0 -

I'm not daft enough to wait 4 hours beyond an agreed collection time for a personal collection. Also, the possibility of a courier bringing their own packing and boxing materials and to carry it safely to a single point of delivery, rather than a hub, and be persuaded into bringing cash is pretty remote.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
