Looks like you're being more practical about this now. It is practical thinking hta gets you through these situations.
If it were me in your position, I'd welcome bankruptcy, esp if someone else will petition. That means you won't have to pay the bankruptcy costs.
You'll get to dump all your debts, probably in as little or a year or even less. You will have problems getting credit for 6 years, but you would have difficulty anyway.
Much better to get it out the way and start the new year fresh.
As I think you know by now the official receiver is unlikely to touch your car, and any other property in your house which you either need for day to day living or belong to your children they can not touch.
Hopefully you are through the worry stage now and can deal with the practicalities.
You will get a lot of help and support here, so come back any time you are feeling low and someone will boost your spirits.
