Hi there,
My bath hot tap will not turn the water on any more what could be wrong.
Also the water keeps coming out of just the shower head with the taps now could the pull down thing be broken or do i need new taps?
thanks
Paul

I think it might be best if you called a plumber.

your post is a bit confusing, are you using mixer taps with a shower attachment? when you say that you turn the taps on and nothing comes out, do you mean the water isn't coming out of the taps just through the shower?0

The problem we had was that only a trickle of water came out of the hot tap in the bath and the sink in the bathroom. What hubby was advised to do was to put a small length of hose between the hot tap and the cold tap (I don't know what you would do with a mixer tap - sorry) and turn the cold tap on full for a few seconds. This pushed the air bubble that was causing the problem to shoot back through and out of the pipe. Now we have hot water in the bath again. I am not saying this is your problem, but it might be.Quidco cashback paid out so far £745.89 :j0

Paul 4798, Hi
Water not coming out of your hot tap could be that, (daft as it sounds), the washer needs replacing. As for the water coming through the shower head only, do you live in high lime scale area. You may need to undo the 'change over switch' between bath tap and shower attachment. Give it a good soaking with a lime scale remover clean it up and hopefully that might solve your problem You can take the change over valve out to clean it, provided the bath taps are turned off, without having to shut off the water supply. However to have a look at the washer in the tap itself, you need to isolate both hot and cold supplies.
Good luck0 -
i have just had a problems like this with the water in the taps. Have you had a period over a few months where the water did come out, but only if you kind of jiggled the tap a bit and turned it on/off a few times?
If so, then it is probably the washer/Tap Top. Depending on the tap you can buy new "inserts" You do need to turn both hot & cold supplies off and then prise/remove the centre of the tap and undo the screw therein. The tap "handle" can then be lifted off and you should, with the help of a wrench/spanner be able to unscrew the (usually brass) tap "insert". Then, take this to a plumbers merchant (usually cheaper than B&Q) and many different shapes/sizes are available so the advice of a proper merchant will help you get the correct one.
Buy the replacement, reverse the above process and bobs you proverbial uncle!
This is caused a by a combination of mechanical wear and limescale (assuming you live in a hard water area).
The bath/shower selector is probably limescale as suggested and needs a good clean!
hope this helps!
