Range cookers

Hi,
We are currently in the process of moving house and the new kitchen has a gap between the units to accommadate a cooker, which measures exactly 100cm. We have been looking at getting a 100cm gas range cooker but have realised that these appliances need a gap either side between the units and the appliance. Are range cookers made to fit a 100CM gap keeping in mind the gap required or is the width actually 100cm itself?
Thanks

Do they actually need a gap at the sides where there are no vents etc?
Back maybe - not so sure about the side.
I'd go for a 6 foot flexy pipe too, so it can be pulled out for maintenance.0 -
You need a 900mm oven for that gap which is a quite common size SMEG have 15 on their website. Or try http://www.baumatic.co.uk/cookers_5_1592.html0

A 10-15mm gap is sufficient. This is mainly for air circulation to keep both the appliance and units cool. Better makes of cookers are better insulated and this gap is less important. In any case try and leave atleast 5mm.
If you have only 1000mm, a 900mm cooker might be the only option available to you. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
