Jessops Problems

Hey guys,

Well its my birthday today, so I decided to go to Jessops and get the camera which Iv been looking at for a few weeks, the Fujifilm S6500. I'v been in there twice over the past few weeks and have been promised a price match, which was confirmed with 3 different members of staff.

I went in this morning and was told as of last Thursday or Friday, they no longer price match; this message was sent from head office and there is absolutly nothing they can do about it. As you can guess, im extreeeeamly angry, but dissapointed moreso. What would you guys advise I do? I'v been looking for a phone number for head office, but no luck so far. I really wanted the camera today, as my girlfriend who lives 200 miles away is coming here, and I was hoping to get some pictures for a photo album for her xmas present, but this seems impossible at the mo :(:(:(

I can of course order online, but I won't get it until mid next week at the earliest, which is too late.

Any help or advise appriciated. Thanks in advance <3

Is this of any help. Really not much you can do about Jessops. It's upto them if they price match.

Jessops have always been a bit dodgy when it comes to price matching. They have never come up with the good for me so I have always gone elsewhere. You didn't say what you were hoping to pay but next day delivery here if it's any help.

£238.85 at cameras2u (which I believe is owned by Jessops anyway!) with next day delivery.

    And 2% at Quidco.

Thanks guys, but I think im sorted now. We rang the Jessops in another local town and they said they will price match, and have reserved the product for pick-up later today.

Im gunna be fuming if they screw us over again...

Price matching with Jessops seems to depend on the direction of the wind! What a joke they are but I hope that you get your deal.

Look in photography mags.... I bought a new lens for my camera last week and Jessops were doing 110% price match (ie they take an extra 10% of the price difference off their price) but only if you actually asked for it!! The photography mags tend to have the T&Cs of their current offers near the back with the Jessops adverts

I know our local Jessops still has the same "internet beating prices" outside the store which was the name of the promotion I got my discount under.

I had exactly the same thing. I was deciding which camera to buy for my wife for Xmas, once we decided and price-checked on the net we went back to the Jessop's we'd originally asked for advice in & were refused the price-match we'd been offered by the same salesman 3 days before! As Xanado said, it's a head-office directive and probably only in place over Xmas. It's costing them, though as I've now bought the camera elsewhere.

That is partially why they price match, they get you to buy the camera ok they take a hit on the profit with that but the screw you over with the memory cards. most people would say ohh well we saved a bucket load on the camera we will take the card its easier to just do it. I would save myself £40 and buy from somewhere else.

    Fujifilm 1Gb xD card at https://www.memorymegastore.com for £17.59 + £3.95 p&p = £21.54
Up to six items for the £3.95 postage.
