Car crash - bit of a complicated one
Comments
-
Actually not, my insurer removed my car, I had a hire car for 2 weeks, extended for two weeks. This was because the garage forgot to look at my car when asked. My insurer made the garage pay for the excess hire car. That is why I pay for my insurance.
The problem of running to the compy chasers and like are they are only interested in money for their pockets first, hence the excessive charges for the car hire and rightly, as I would as well, if the car is movable, then the hire should only be for the period of the car repair. Usually this is at a place the insurer has a contract with, and a pool car is provided.
If you do all this yourself, then you run the risk of not being covered0 -
If you have a traders policy then why not use one of the other cars in stock instead of an expensive hire car?0

We were told we were getting a hire car free of charge while car was getting repaired so we took it.
We didnt arrange the repair ourselves, it was sent to an approved bodyshop by the solicitors. They got the car checked to see the damage then agreed the repair and sent it off and the courtasy car was delivered to us.
Spoken to the solicitor and they have said theres nothing they can do in regards to this and the bill still needs paid. I still disagree with this and think I shouldnt be responsible for it seeing as they agreed the repair after BT said they were at fault. So why should I have to pay for a courtasy car seeing as BT changed their mind when handed the hire car bill and bodyshop bill? Then not my fault the court case was cancelled. Please help!0 -
