Windows XP and Spam

I have suddenly started getting spam into my main e-mail account over the past three days which seems to originate from the same source - the content is extremely similar although the sender's name/email address keeps changing. It is also becoming more frequent.

In Outlook under Personal Folders it is set up so that when e-mail comes in it comes up with the number of items of e-mail under say inbox or sent, and in the next pane it comes up with "to" "subject" "sent"/"received" and size of file.

However, at the present time in "junk mail" and "Norton Antispam" it is coming up not only with the second pane, but with a third pane which views the total e-mail.

I would like to get rid of this third pane in Norton AntiSpam. How do I do it, as at the present time it is as though I am opening up some of the incoming spam.

By the way, I am clicking "this is spam" to send mail from the inbox to the antispam box, which is also allowing me to block the sender. However, the sender keeps coming in different guises.

This hird pane is the reading or preview pane (I don't have outlook on this computer to check) and as I recall it should be easy to turn off through one of the menus - I don't think its complicated or hidden, just right there - maybe under 'view'?

Sorry its a bit vague, I'm going from memory.

This type of spam is mostly propagated by people using the (very vulnerable) Outlook and Outlook Express. If people would use a more secure email client, the problem would be much reduced. Also, don't expose your email address more than you have to. Once you start to get this cr*p the only way to stop it is by changing your email address. See
