That's what I usually do when I buy avocados, but the last 2 times I bought them from Aldi, after just a few days, they were completely rotton, you couldn't even salvage any of the flesh by cutting away the bad bits, as all 4 were completely rotton inside, despite the fact they were within the date restriction.
I'm happy with most of the other fruit and veg so far (excluding but a few), but I tend to stick with Tesco or Sainsburys when buying avocados and certain other fruit and veg.0
