I complained about the Wycombe staff many years ago and eventually got an apology months after they eventually sorted out the issues.
I too made a formal complaint about them many years ago. My cooker was reported as faulty then went up in flames about 3 days later. They tried to charge me for the damage.

The woman in the office also had a habit of just letting herself into your house when she liked :mad:

  • Hello there,
I am looking for some advice/ help
Me and my Fiance have a 2 bed flat in Banbury and we've been together 3 years.
My Fiance has 2 boys form a previous relationship and is getting full custody of them when he's back from Afgan in June.
We are looking into getting a quarters at Brize Norton as he is posting there when he's back. The only thing is, is we got an LSAP loan to get the flat of £10k and so i am not sure if we can get quarters having this?
Does anyone know if we have a chance of getting quarters? We are getting married in October anyway but just wondered if anyone has known of a similar case??
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated :-)

    Thanks Bex

    Hi,
My son is due to be posted to Brize(army). He has been told they have no quarters available.
What are his 'rights' in this and what are the obligations of the Housing people towards the problem.
    Thanks

    Pedro,

Let the housing office run with the paperwork. RAF Brize Norton is a very busy AT base with the closure of RAF Lyneham. Every man and dog wants to live near the base, though its not 100% possible.

Quarters will be available, maybe at RAF Fairford for example or even a privately rented house provided for him (known as SFA).

    Thanks Alias-Omega.

Looks as though he is not going to have any luck. May have to go unaccompanied and stay in mess on base so to speak. It appears as though Shrivenham will be the place he may have to go to.
That looks miles from Brize where he will be working. Also he will have no transport as his wife will need the car back at home.

Would you have any idea if regualr transport is laid on between the two places or is it like anything else in the military-- "your responsibility to get there!" Understnding is not one of the militaries strong points.

    Sorry, I really don't know.

I would await the outcome of the SFA housing application, there might be transport from the married quarter patch but you would need to contact his Section/HR Admin for more information relating to this.

Pedro, I wouldn't hold out much hope on the transport score... we were in a similar situation 3 years ago & my hubby was told by the HIC to "buy a car or a bike". He did claim fuel allowance which his clerk sorted out for him as it was over a certain distance away (I can't remember specifics, sorry) but this may have changed since the cuts. I'd say Alias Omega is right, await the outcome of the SFA app & take it from there. Your son could also speak to the Welfare staff at the new posting for advice, or contact the housing specialist at the AFF. Unfortunately, the situation is that there are more people needing houses than there are houses but he is entitled and if there are no quarters available within a certain time frame of him starting his new posting (28 days I think) then a non availability certificate will have to be issued and the search for a private rent can begin. As this is very expensive, Dio Ops will do everything they can to avoid this.

There is no transport between BZN and the outlying Qtr sites.

Does anyone know what the Gateway House is like. I have heard it is a complete dump yet they expect staff to stay there.
