Im not having much success with my indoor seeds,im also not liking all the wee pots cluttering up the window sills etc(No im not naturaly green fingered:o),I quite enjoyed it last year, but the novelty has worn off and we've just decorated the kitchen and im not liking the composty pots muckying it up-maybe if i had a proper greenhouse id be more patient...anyhow im digressing,-,
last year i have a vague memory of buying some small broccoli, broad bean and tumbling tom plants at our local car booty,i think they were around 25p each and all plants grew very well,im thinking about giving up on anything that needs indoor germinating and buying these wee plants again, cany remember what month i bought them tho...when would gardeners start selling small veggies plants like these(I dont want to pay garden centre prices either)thanks.

our local one is just behind my house! it opens on april 30th till sept, i think it is governed bysome kind of bylaw or something like dogs on beaches cant go on between those dates after easter till end of summer?
ours sells plants too but you have to be there early or they sell out- the man will put them aside though if you want a mooch about.
im looking for planters as without a car i can never carry them home:(***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0 -
They have been selling them for a dew weeks, Not sure whether they grow them indoors or a heated
enviroment though?
Lots of stalls selling plants yesterday. Only thing to be careful of if they were grown indoors & heated
a cold night may shock them.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Be careful when buying any young plant at this time of year. Ask have they been hardened off (eg they haven't just come straight from indoors or out of a heated greenhouse) They need to become used to the cooler temps we will still get, so you may need to keep them undercover for a while. Although some young plants will survive lower temps, it may slow them down and, as can be the case with tomatoes, turn the leaves 'blue'.
I grow my own, sell some and buy others. The only heat I have is for germinating tomatoes in the kitchen but I won't sell tomatoes just yet (even though B&Q have been selling tomatoes for the past week or so!)
