  • Beer Deal - not a DTD but a good deal

Just wombled my first receipt and have studied it for potential DTD. I note that there is a 'Strongbow £10' and a 'Stella Artois £10' at the top and then they have taken off £5 for the multibuy savings Beer/Ciders - 2F£15/4F£25. I have looked on the website and I think these beers are either packs of 10 or 12 so that would be a very good deal. HTH (hope I have posted in the right place)

Just a warning if you are visiting Tesco today...... I have just come back and it was absolutely packed! I have never seen it so busy (on a par with Christmas!). Took me an hour to just get a few bits (at least 10 customers in each que!). On the plus side though, they took my DTD voucher with no problems ;) (and I wombled a large receipt on the way out :o)

    Zippy x

My Tesco was bedlam, but worth it for the cod loins!! ;)

My faith has been restored in Tesco! I had a horrible time the other day with my voucher being refused (it was missing the magical 1) and as the customer services desk was shut they couldn't ring to confirm it was valid. Then I spoke to a lady in customer services who told me there was a special team who had to deal with problems (there isn't!!!), rang back later and eventually got it sorted. I emailed head office and cc'd customer services. I managed to use the voucher today (after going to customer services to get it sorted before I started shopping) and when I have just looked at my email I have a sorry email, proof that it is a system error to take into store with me and a £20 goodwill gift card!!!! Thank you Mr. T :j
I will never go shopping on Good Friday again though - it was MANIC!

My Tesco was manic too - I wanted to slap a customer - she wanted a Lindt bunny (what was I doing in that ailse, I wonder). As the size she wanted was under another tray of bunnies, she just tipped the tray above backwards on to the shelf so all the bunnies fell off (breaking most of them, I should think).

I think I'm getting even less tolerant about people and the thoughtless things they do. I won't get started on the person who was smoking in the bus shelter the other evening but it ended with him saying to me 'go on then, phone the f'ing police'.

And the person who beat me to the cashpoint last night whilst she was on her mobile and then she started to rumage through her handbag to find her purse whilst still talking on her mobile clamped to her ear. I was stood behind her with my cashcard in my hand grumbling under my breath.

Right - feel better for typing that :D

I`m glad it`s not just me- I know how you feel, people are getting ruder & ruder.........

Hi there think this was asked a few pages back but didnt see an answer - does the red on the ss in the date change column indicate a price change is going to happen soon and also how does anyone know when a price change is going to happen- thanks!

The columns with a red highlight are usually hidden. We only unhide them when we're updating. The updates get pulled through into those from the form that people submit.
All it means is that there is an update for that row. If you are worried, compare the value in red with the value immediately before it. You'll notice that for most of them, it is just the date which is different which means it is just a confirmed date change.

same here, very busy considering it was early in the morning.

pretty much all the tills were open and full of customers.

BUT, when you thnk about, this is kinda good for using a voucher. when you present the voucher and they're uming and ahing about it; they'll see another 5 customers behind you and think 'sod it'.

you'll then hear that magical 'beep' and the tapping of 4 keys...music to my ears!

Happy Good Friday folks & a quick question -

I've whizzed through the posts but can't see any reference-

Has anyone had the strawberries confirmed - 227g for £3 with a dtd of £4?

If so, I'm gonna nip out and treat the slavewife to some witha bit of cream and a glass of plonk.

    I'm a romantic you know.

    No, didn't work.

    HAD TO SHARE THIS !!!!!!!!!!

Just got back from my local ASDA store doing the weekly normal shop and i noticed that on every single till they had an A4 poster which was a photocopy of a newpaper article, it read big headlines TESCO LIMIT ASDA PRICE CHECK PROMISE so hillarious my asda are totally showing tesco up for their underhanded tactics to make sure we dont all figure out that Asda have been cheaper all along.

I know DTD has been most good for a lot of people, i am not certain the either Tesco or Asda are cheaper than the other. Both stores run marketing and discount campaigns, that are arranged with the manufacturers markerting strategies. The suppliers supply chains couldn't often cope with the impact of a BOGOF deal in both chains at the same time, which is why the offers will often switch between Tesco and Asda over a number of weeks. Overall and assuming you shopped the same items most weeks, between the two stores I expect there is little difference. The differences will show up if you specifically target those items that are on offer. But this is not a representative view of who is generally cheaper. Both chain work with similar margins.

How many 'Normal' shops with no targetting DTD items have yielded a large returning voucher? I think we should not complain to Tesco and let the good times roll while it lasts. Tesco are under no obligation to offer DTD, it is good Customer service, and we are benefiting, so why complain?

i don't think they were complaining about tesco price check/DTD....
