Thanks shjo for that post. It is a lovely word "doolally" that you have used. For what it is worth, here is the Wikt account of the derivation:

    Etymology
from Deolali, a British army camp 100 miles north-east of Bombay where British soldiers would stay after finishing their tour of duty, to await transport back to Britain; and tap, a Persian or Urdu word for a malarial fever (ultimately from Sanskrit tapa (“heat” or “torment”

Sorry to intrude with a touch of culture and etymology, but it might help on "Mastermind" if the specialist subject of "Tesco DTD" is not available.

Wow, what a coicidence, just after i read your post, (or a comment on your post), Caroline Quentin ' a passage through India' is giving the background to the exact word on telly.

    what ??????

In my opinion if tescos were really worried about us using out dtd vouchers why would they still advertise this on itv tonight , just after the asda advert on price cuts ?
  • Why don't you just 'pipe down' and accept that different people have different opinions on things rather than re-igniting fires.

I have been out all day and just managing to catch up and all I hear is your 'whingeing' and your game of kiss-chase with berbastrike. Why don't you both just 'get it on' or something and be done with it!

I'm sick of this, is it fraud, isn't it fraud. Tell you what - why don't you wait till they pass you back a receipt unsigned then walk straight back in and say, this is a receipt I've just used and I've reprinted another voucher for the receipt. Even though it says only to be used once I am wandering through the tills with it again now and am going to use it twice. Am I breaking the T&C's or is this fraud?

That way, you'd get the only iterative answer your looking for and some proof.

Be sure to write back and let us know eh!

proof that it is fraudulent surely??

proof that it is different to the other things that break the t+c

like creating a fake email address to bypass the monthly limit and obtain more vouchers your not meant to have..

like using more than one a day

like altering the info to get the voucher.
