Time for me to escalate my complaint to TESCO’s CEO!
philip.clark@uk.tesco.com

So far I have managed to deal with price check problems for my household my mothers household and my grandmothers household by calling their free CS number and getting giftcards (5 plus one more(£4.52) lost in mail for 21/03/11 and no replacement from when I told them on 7/04/11) to cover the shortfall in DTD vouchers.

NO returned call form 13/04/11 about 3 treasure eggs at ASDA being listed as £2 each instead of £1.
NO call back form 15/04/11 about CADBURY DAIRY MILK CARAMEL EGG+ SML EGGS 177G coming up as N/A (I told them for the first time 17/03/11 that they are 178g plus a few times since) + treasure eggs.
Called 19/04/11 about both matters and not getting 2 call backs and as they said they would call me back so this time I got a name and ref before giving out me details.

when I got called back I was told that they would not send me out a giftcard this time to correct the problem (and honour their pledge to DTD) and that I should return the items if I was not happy. I Told them that I was not happy with this outcome and told them that the N/A item had been wrong for a month and expected them to send me a giftcard just like every other time this item came up as N/A. I gave them the name of someone in CS that had sent me a giftcard and assured me on 11/04/11 that the eggs would be corrected to 178g. Despite talking to CS then a supervisor then the supervisor’s supervisor (they would not give me a contact higher up and said that person was on holiday anyway) I was still just told if I was not happy to take the items back.
And while I’m at it I’ll tell them that I was not happy that 40 days into the promotion that I was unable to use a DTD voucher as the none of the staff knew how to put a voucher through the self scan (only till open at 23:52) due to £9.99 limit.

Just my personal opinion - but I think you are pushing your luck with this! The Tesco system is far from perfect and we all know that they play a crafty game with not matching some items that they clearly should. However, given the way everyone has got some massive hoards of cheap or free shopping nobody can really complain over the failures (especially as so many of us are being very flexible with our interpretation of the rules!).

We don't complain when Tesco mismatch in our favour (such as the beef joints which were not really comparable but many of us got for free!). You seem to have done very well with your complaints so far - considering Tesco clearly state in the T&Cs that they will not enter into correspondence over this.

Myself, my mother and grandmother have all stuck to tescos rules and feel that they should honour their DTD pledge. T&C 7. "Every attempt is made to match every possible Grocery product. However there are rare occasions where some products are not immediately matched or matching is not possible."
note the wording "immediately matched" as in call tesco helpline and give them the details and they WILL be able to match and "Every attempt is made to match" well given the fact that the CARAMEL EGG had been wrong for a month they are clearly not making every effort. and i think that T&C 8. "No correspondence will be entered into and no refunds will be given for products not being matched on Price Check." is more for the own brand stuff anyway.

Instead of trying to get a gift card from the customer services team and draw attention to yourself selective purchasing, why don't you put it down to experience and buy items which you know are DTD. I have purchased many items and only 1 came back N/A. It was the Filippo Berio extra virgin olive oil that was £6.49. I bought 3 bottles and my partner bought 3. It was a shame it didnt work but we never bought it again. Everything else has worked and we have done xxxxx shops and have had xxxxxxx worth of vouchers.

I have to agree with the customer services point of view. I would not be giving you any vouchers and I would be saying that the supervisors, supervisors, supervisors, chief inspector is on holiday as well as you probably think that if you don't get what you want you will take it higher.

Why don't you go and buy some of those dishwashing tablets which give you a lot of voucher back and think of this as your gift card? Forget the Easter egg that doesn't work. Buy another one and move on. You are wasting time calling them that you could use for DTD shopping

I've had a QuantuMatic and 5 off 30 co-op from beforeishop and so has my grandmother I gave mine to her as myself and my mother dont have a dishwasher. and she has 2 that myself and her got from sainsburys (£4.97 £5 voucher) a while back with voucher from finish website. so is well stocked for how often she uses the dishwasher. The only reason the CARAMEL EGG doesn't work is that after a month of knowing it was wrong and being assured that it would be corrected they still did not correct it. and as for spending time DTDing the most any of the 3 of us have left for this month is 60p

Is it worth all that hassle?
You've still get lots of things for free so why are you bringing so much attention to yourself. Tesco will be able to link your vouchers and so keep an eye on what you are spending. I think most people have taken a loss when something doesn't give out DTD we all have to just get over it and move on to our next shop, its no big deal when it was free anyway :)

Like the man said, If you are not happy just take your goods back and shop elsewhere.
I may be bringing attention to myself but I'm doing it to get tescos to stick to their DTD pledge just like I have done to asda about their price guarantee (issuses with morrisons:entire shops coming back as N/A as price data is more than 7 days old and items even those listed on morrisons site coming back as N/A when morrisons sell them)
as for linking vouchers each households shops are submited from their own email address and a spreadsheat is used to keep track of
shop£, voucher£, shop total£, voucher total£, voucher short£, voucher short total£, cash spent£, cash total£, used
for each month
my figures for this month are shop total £126.39, voucher total £99.40, voucher short total £12.00, cash total £3.57(paid with giftcard) with one voucher for £11.28 left to spend
this does no track non DTD shops also done at tesco which is a 7 minute walk from my home.

It's pretty odd. We have also had a couple of beef confirmed and a couple not confirmed. Is Mr T playing a little game, or is it regional?? :)

Can I ask please has anyone bought the Finest Rump Steak and if so do they have the price paid on the pack and what Asda would have been?

I have all the details written down from the SS but my brain is fried with the Salmon fiasco this am and I cannot work out for the life of me if a pack cost say £6.00 what the DTD would be.

Or does anyone have a formula the same as the lamb?

Thank you in advance :)

Bought some yesterday, not sure if confirmed, 'cos haven't looked for voucher on price check site yet, but basically the DTD is half back on whatever the cost of the steak is :)
