Hiya All,
Unsure what to do. I listed an item on ebay a large piece of furniture. I did list in my description that it had been listed elsewhere also, I managed to sell the item via the local paper. The problem is its also now sold on ebay!! This is only the second item I've sold and I was unsure of how to cancel or retract it and now dont know what to say to the winning bidder I obviously cant sell one item to two buyers!!

All you can do is apologise profusely to the buyer, do it ASAP . Hopefully you can avoid a negative an dbad stars, but if you do get them and you have a very low feedback already it might be worth closing your account properly andthen restarting as a new user. As long as you don't get suspended on your existing account it is quite OK to do that, you will need a new email and bank account details though.
If you want to try reclaiming your FVFs then you need to attempt a mutual, but of course buyer may well refuse which leaves you the fees to pay.
Ebay do not expect items to be listed elsehwre and it is always best to stick to one venue at a time rather than risk this happening.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Personally I'd sell it to the ebay person, and apologise to the other person! If they refuse a mutual, you'll still have to pay your fees, and they can also leave bad feedback and stars.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Sorry OP not what you want to hear & nothing constructive but why do people post here after the event?
We could have advised how to cancel your ebay listing.
Grovel to the ebay buyer if it's already been collected by the other person.0 -

Ebay can stick that where the sun doesn't shine. Your goods are yours to advertise anywhere you wish to. I'm just surprised the OP couldn't delist the item in time.0 -
