Hi folks,

Just got an email from Morrisons saying they are starting a new offer:

Spend £40 in one transaction in store between 18th April and 1st of May, and get a voucher for 6p off per litre of fuel to use until 8th May.

Lower spend threshold and higher reward than the long-running (albeit intermittent) Tesco deal, but only for a limited time.

Hope this helps everyone save a few quid over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks, I did this last time and a useful point to note is you have to keep your receipt proving you've spend the £40+ in the specified timescales.

I hadn't released you had to do this and by pure fluke had kept the receipt, they will ask you for it when you pay for the fuel. You need the receipt AND the voucher!

Morrisons also have a loyalty card for fuel - you get a £5 voucher to use in store when you get enough points, I think it works out around 2p a litre.

if you're shopping is likely to be more than £80 you could split your shopping into two trips if you can be bothered so you get two vouchers, worth doing if you fill your car up fairly often, double the savings!

Our local Morrisons was doing this a few weeks ago, spend £40 and get 5p per litre off.

Not sure if your offer is the same, but the one by us you can only use the voucher at that particular store that issued it, (unlike Sainsburys) and the queues to get to the filling station on the last day of the offer (Sunday) were tremendous!

Edit to say just read link and it appears to allow any filling station to be used. Good for Morrisons.

Thanks for pointing this out. I've also checked the T&Cs online, which state:

"Vouchers can be redeemed at all Morrisons Petrol Filling Stations (excluding Gibraltar) between Monday 18th April 2011 and Sunday 8th May 2011 inclusive."

So I assume they are valid nationwide, not just at the filling station attached to the store you spend at. However, it might be worth checking it out in store in case there are any regional variations.

    Thanks again:beer:

As my research tends to indicate that the only real difference between the supermarkets and the big names diesel is the quality and quantity of the additive i am wondering if I can still save money after putting some of my owns additves, say Redex or STP.

I know a lot of people have experienced no running problems when they put in supermarket diesel, but my Mondeo runs like a bag of spanners.

So, 6p a litre, roughly 55 litre tank, means that I will save if the cost of the additives is less than £3:30.

The cost of the Redex one shot stuff is £1:99, so I will only be saving £1:31 a tank, mmm, not sure if the saving is worth it to be honest. If your car doesn't suffer from reduced performance and rough running on supermarket diesel then it is a no brainer.

They already stopped giving out the vouchers.

If you have any, they must be used by Sunday 8/5/11
