Focus Kitchen

Hello All,
Thought I would share a good deal we got over the weekend at Focus
We are FTB and desperately need a kitchen in our new house as the current one is so old, it is pretty much unusable. We don't have the money to buy a proper fitted kitchen, so instead concentrated on the cheaper take-away kitchens at B&Q, Wickes...etc.
Focus have a spring sale on at the moment so thought we would have a look in there. In the end we got the following deal:
- 15 units in cream (with handles and soft close)
- Fascias and bolts ready for when we buy the integral dishwasher and washing machine
- 3 x 3mtrs of new black laminate (good quality as far as laminate goes!)
- A black graphite 1.5 sink
- A large Slinky Slink mixer tap
- An Electrolux double oven in stainless steel
- An Electrolux glass black gas hob
- A stainless steel and glass curved chimney extractor
- Under-unit lights
- Plinths, cornices and end of unit panels (flush ones)
We got all this for £2000, which we thought was really good considering the oven and hob are worth over £950 by themselves. We also got free delivery for this Friday, in which they are getting out as much to us as they can, and will then send on everything else as soon as it is available (mainly appliances).
Very much looking forward to getting started on putting it all together!!

Oh wow, did you have to haggle at all or were these the given prices? I've been looking at Ikea for kitchens but they come in at about £4000 for the basic cupboards + appliances!0

No we didn't haggle at all!
That was the deal we were offered! I suppose there is so much competition nowadays, stores need to offer good deals

That is a really good deal! very well done you. Don't we all love a bargain! When are you putting your new kitchen in? We are going to rip our old kitchen out easter friday. Got a ikea kitchen, think we must have spent about £3000 total for similar number of units as you. My appliances, I bought before the VAT increase at Ikea when they ran a 3 for 2 offer and a £100 giftcard for every £1000 spent in Kitchens. Plus a reduced from £139 to £39 mixer tap. So they've been sitting in garage for months!
Are you fitting your kitchen? Or getting tradesmen to do it?0 -

We are ripping the [very] old one out on Friday and then taking off tiles/paper to see if we need to plaster. We are going to do as much of the kitchen as we can ourselves, although a friend is going to cut the laminate for us
Sounds like you got a good deal too!!

Maybe it was due to Focus closing down. There have been rumours it's in trouble and ours has closed in the last week.
I hope you get it.
Always on the hunt for a bargain.0 -
Focus did indeed go into administration after us only receiving half of it, but fortunately we were able to get all the rest (bar one or two bits). We were so relieved and we thought we would end up with half a kitchen that we couldn't do anything with! Also worried at costs as we got such a good deal, there would have been no way we could have got all that again for that price with someone else!!0

Well done you for managing to get everything you needed despite the problems Focus are having. Enjoy your new kitchen!0
