I love how you are entrenched in this bears vs bulls gang nonsense. I guess its nice to belong.

Said the pot to the kettle.
Lets be honest, if you use the argument that bulls are only interested in low rates in connection with lower mortgages, then you have to admit that bears are interested in high rates in connection with lower house prices.
I have pretty much done everything that the bears warn against, plus I have done it during one of the worst financial downturns in history. Only time will tell whether the bears warning are correct or whether the saying "who dares wins" is really the way people should think.
If you raise interest rates it'll have a larger impact on tax income than reducing fuel duty for a section of industry. I now a lot of the bears are pinning their hopes of a rate rise decimating home owners but the reality is that it will decimate businesses more.
lol, at least the bull gang are up front in why they want low rates. The bears try to wrap themselves in a thin veneer of caring for the economy, but its as clear as day that they think an increase in interest rates is directly equatable to a decrease in house prices. At least have the courage to admit that you want a rate rise because you want to pick up a bargain repo.

    I'm doing well.

You keep telling us that. We get the message. You sound a lot like Hamish in many ways. Mmmm, maybe I should make the accusation. No, I'll think about it first (a good bit of advice for you there).

BTW. I am actually quite suprised that you are doing so well.

  • Yes Graham, and almost every one of those will be a response to an attack from the likes of geneer and other people in the bear gang who cannot abide the fact that I pretty much go against every stick of their 'advice' and fears and yet I am not destitute (far from it).

I have never been attacked by the bull gang. From the comments on the boards and some PMs I have received, they seem to quite like the fact that I'm doing well.

Keep your chin up,plenty on here wishing the worst for you.

    They are indeed. :)

It wont make a jot of difference though, wishing for something to happen doesnt necessarily mean it will. It certainly has no influence.

You might want to bear that in mind when you make plans for the stone cottage etc.

And no, I honestly don't wish or hope that you don't get what you want. It won't make any difference to me, apart from a few "I told you so's" on here (if we are lucky enough to still be here by then).

True. The non appearance of the soft landing will attest to that.
