car insurance - windscreen chip repair?

Hi

Looks like i have got couple of tiny chips in my car's windscreen.

was thinking of calling autoglass to get it done through comprehensive insurance. i think usually its free and doesnt affect no claims bonus.

But is it considred a claim and more importantly will it affect my future insurance premiums?

Use the firm named as your Insurer's preferred supplier in your policy documentation, otherwise you might have to pay any balance over and above your Insurer's limit.

Windscreen repairs do not normally affect your NCD or your future premiums.

Although with most companies a windscreen repair won't affect NCD, it is not so that it won't affect premiums in future.

A windscreen repair is a claim, (and has to be declared to any future insurer), and will usually mean a premium loading.

(How else do they get paid for?)

it does not effect, however buy the stuff from ebay for about £7 gives the same resaults
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Exactly. Don't hit the NCD but load the premium by a few hundred.

It's never resulted in a loading on the rare occasion I have made a claim!

In 2008 we had 2 windscreen claims in 2 months (one chip repair & 2 full screen replacements) and at renewal (and renewals since) they have made no difference to the premiums.
