What is best way to send 8.5 kg package

I have a fireproof document safe which I intend to sell on Ebay but which weighs 8.5 kg. The price I would get would not even cover the sending costs as far as I can see unless there is a way for me to send.

Apart from offering 'local pick up' only which has never worked too well for me, as in the South West, any good value suggesstions to send?

I'd put it on Gumtree or the freeads. Normally far better for collection than ebay

If you don't fancy a courier then a RM standard parcel is £13.61

I know still technically a courier but parcelforce if an ebay sale and you pay via paypal the cost for items up to 30 kg is 10.99

Also if you're doing ebay a lot of buyers arent that keen on couriers so it could be worth offering different options.

Something like that I'd put in the local paper for collection.

    Depends on value.

AROUND £7 - £8.50 VIA PARCEL2GO with up to £50 cover. They have multiple carriers on their books - DHL economy is best option in my opinion. They usually get there next day and are fully tracked . Costs about £8.39 with VAT. If you've never used em before - get £4 back via PARCEL2GO cashback on QUIDCO - reducing cost to just £4.39!!!!!!

Don't use HDNL/YODEL - you may never locate your parcel again - thats if they turn up.

Downside is you have to wait in all day on your selected day (our local driver always turns up before 8am, so thats great).

I have owned it just over a week but only today have tried to fit it in the space I had in mind when I ordered and it don't fit!!!!! It would on its side but when it arrived it said only lay on its back (to ensure the fire protection works) so that why it is no good. However I have spoken to the supplier and they are happy to take it back and refund me, less the delivery costs for the return. Phew problem solved but thanks for your enquiry.
