Now come on Looby 75....that is truly not the most frugal use for dryer fluff!!!

You are meant to save your old candle stubs, melt and mix with the fluff, and set into cardboard egg cartons, to make firelighters! :T

You can even decorate with pine cones, wrap nicely and give as a CHRISTMAS gift!!! :rotfl:

I swear to you...I saw this on an American frugal website....I think of it every time I clear my drier filter! :D

    Regards

Brill, the fluff in my tumble dryer always has DD's long hair mixed with it. I can now give it back to her - as a Christmas present!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
gracious, never occurred to me the wretched stuff could be useful! It's taken me long enough to realise that unless I clear all the filters regularly the drier gradually takes longer and longer to be effective - and yes, I do know that's also a fire-risk. I feel smug at putting a date on my calendar to regularly defluff the drier - now realise I've been throwing away something useful! Aaargh!!

We debated uses for TD fluff a few years ago and someone (Austin Allegro:confused: maybe) found a site for TD Fluff Modelling:eek: well weird.

Can't find it now tho (I have searched:p ):rotfl: I think it must have been before the site upgrades.

  • Hi, Don't forget to regularly empt the fluff out before it builds up, the fire Brigade came out to mine earlier in the week for one of those free home safety checks & they got called away to a tumble drayer fire. The firemen said it was the second one that week & it was caused by not emptying the filter regularly enough it really got me thinking.

PS - the home safety checks are well worth it, they give you free smoke alarms if needed, lots of advice, e.g. don';t use box style double/triple adaptors (we have 3) as they can crack & cause a fire use flat strip type only £1.97 from Tesco well worth it !!! Take care fellow money savers
