Problem fitting hose pipe to mixer taps

Hi we bought a hozelock hose pipe so we can water the plants in our garden and fill the paddling pool up when its warm. We have got mixer taps, so we bought a hozelock mixer tap adaptor. My dh tried to put this on our mixer tap and it won't fit properly, water ends up going everywhere. Is there any other adaptors that you can get to fix on to mixer taps?

    We've had a few but they always required a dish cloth to be tied around the tap & adapter to stop water squirting all over the kitchen. We ended up just getting an outdoor tap fitted & it's so much more convenient.

    Here are the ones we've been through, depending on the shape of mixer tap that was in the kitchen at the time;

    The screw-top one's were most managable as you could force a seal between the tap & the rubber washer. The large black rubber adapter in the top-right of the picture is absolutely useless unless you have ginormous rectangular taps that fit the 3cm x 2.3cm hole exactly.

    We tried one like the one with the green top in your picture. How did you force a seal. I think that the washer is not big enough as it doesn't cover properly and we tried the three that came with it.

    It depends on the type of mixer tap. Our old one fed the cold water out through a hole in front of the hot water feed so we could angle the adapter so that the lower part of it was slightly pointing away from the tap & screw the lid on tight enough for it to dig onto the washer.

    There are so many different types of mixer tap and so few types of adapter - that's why we went for the outdoor tap.
