Help!Carpets and bits to go with this??

I have some very blatant wallpaper on feature walls in my hallway,and at the top of the stairs as they turn into the long passage and cannot for the life of me decide fully on carpet colour and new accessories and bits for the plain walls!!

And the walls I've been painting a light steely colour with hint of blue.I like it but the rest of the house ,despite having plenty of colour and bold bits,doesn't have the all over colour thing going on (except ds room which is a space room!!) so a little concerned it doesn't go but I LOVE the paper when I walk in the house:)

What colour carpet would you recommend?And would you stic with the steely walls or could something else work??

Oh,and the flooring in the hall is currently oak (open to change),carpet just needs to go up the stairs and along the passage.Need pics on walls and bits to add something too
