planning permission ?

Hi I am looking to split 1 big bedroom in to 2 I ve looked into an attic conversion but its too pricey
my question is do I need to apply for planning permission to make the 1 bedroom in to 2. It would involve having a window put in the newly created bedroom. we are also hoping to have the loft boarded out with maybe a velux in, does this also need planning permission.
If we do need planning permission for any of it or all of it do you have to pay for planning for each part or submit 1 plan for all the changes. Thanks

Unless its a listed building or in a conservation area you'll be fine. But you will need Bldg Regs as you'll be carrying out alterations to the structure to accommodate the Velux and the new window.

Also, do check that any previous planning permissions for your house do not contain conditions that prevent the insertion of windows in any of the elevations or roofslopes - as you will then need PP.
