Redundancy Notice Question

Hi

As from the 30th of November I will be getting made redundent. The paperwork I have received says I am contracted up until that date.

On the paperwork it also says they can give us 8 weeks notice if the want us to leave before.
We have also been told if we leave before the date for another job we could lose our redundancy.

What I would like to know is, if they can give us 8 weeks notice if they want us to leave, can we do the same?
I would like to know incase I get offered another job before the 30th of November.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Look up counter notice in the context of redundancy.

    With the employer reserving the right to terminate earlier than the current notified termination date this would strongly support you at a ET if they refused to accept counter notice.
