Do you think sarcasm is a good way to start out on a forum?
DCFC79 is a long standing member who offers a lot of useful advice.
He was (imho) just pointing out that the 'Praise, Vent & Warnings' board was a strange place to say 'Hi'.
I'd have thought that common practice on forums is to read the rules, there's nothing to say you have to introduce yourself.
From the FAQ section:
Now that you've joined, I hope you get something and maybe give something to the website.
Certain topics must be kept to individual boards, in order to better protect the site. Please help us in this aim by keeping all discussion in the correct boards.- Non-MoneySaving Topics If you want to discuss a subject that's not MoneySaving then there's an area of the Forum set up for it. Read more about the MoneySavers' Arms.
However, non-MoneySaving discussions legitimately complained about, such as sensitive racial issues, will be scanned and if considered a threat to the site, will be removed. We can't answer questions asking us why; it's done to protect the site and we don't have the time and resources to justify it.
Certain subjects have caused problems in the past and will be removed where reported. Read more about them in the MoneySavers' Arms.
