Trying to get a single credit card for balance transfer but cant get enough credit

So, after having to get several credit cards due to various reasons, namely my partners redundancy a while ago, i've decided to try and get a single card to transfer all the balances on to, but its just not happening!

Currently, I have:

Barclaycard with £500 limit
Halifax with £800 limit
Asda Finance with £650 limit
Capitol One with £200 limit

I will admit they are more spent than credit filled, but I didnt think it would be THIS hard to get one single card to put all the credit onto. I have friends with thousands of pounds of credit card debt and the most anyone will give me is £800!

Does anyone have any advice, should I just try and persevere with paying them all off monthly (i always pay more than the minimum, but am in no way able to clear them in the near future, plus, there's our impending wedding in September throwing a financial spanner in the works), or would phoning up a credit card company instead of applying online work better?

I admit to being cr*p with money but am trying to sort things out!

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Jen

    Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding!

If someone offered you a card with an £800 limit and a good balance transfer rate, you could have transferred the balances from your Barclaycard and Capital One cards. While that money was on a low rate, you could have closed the Barclaycard and Capital One cards and concentrated on overpaying the other two.

It can look bad to lenders if you apply for too many cards in a short space of time. How many cards have you applied for? Which lenders have accepted you, and what rates have they offered you? What are the rates of your current cards?

You could try asking for help on the Debt-Free Wannabe forum. They will ask you to post an Statement Of Affairs (a list of all your incomings, debts, and other outgoings), then suggest areas where you might be able cut your spending and use the money to overpay your credit cards.

If you can't clear your debts, then the extravagance of a wedding is maybe the last thing you need.

    Harsh but true.
