Do you think I'll have any luck sorting this?

Afternoon all,

In November 2010 we replaced our oven with an Indesit KD3C3 (KG) and it's been brilliant, particularly it being a double oven has been a great help.

This morning my husband had just put the grill pan back in the top oven, closed the door (which kind of clunks shut due to the sort of hinge it has) and I heard an odd sound....which turned out to be the front piece of glass shattering into many small pieces and landing on the floor.

He assures me it wasn't banged, hit or otherwise violated in any way.

Do you think I will have any luck getting this replaced by the supplier or manufacturer? Clearly it shouldn't do this but I can't think why it has happened and can just see them basically not believing that it wasn't hit!

Of course I'll be ringing them tomorrow (though don't know who to speak to first yet - Indesit or Comet) but thought I'd ask for some ideas on what the outcome is likely to be.

Many thanks for reading,

Kimberley

I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

Keep your man away from the Cooker and buy a toaster instead. Far better for Crumpets and Marmite.

Give them a ring (either, you'll probably end up speaking to Indesit anyway) and they will let you know if it's FOC repair, or otherwise.
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

That was almost too easy...booked to come and replace the glass on Wednesday morning. Hope nothing crops up, if all goes well I may have to change my opinion of Comet!
