Upgraded AVG now no pictures!!!

Hi

I have upgraded to AVG 7.5 but now I cannot view pictures on sites. Also, I have downloaded some smilies from various sources, but when I upload them to ImageShack then they won't post - all I get is the URL address but no pic.

I have now tried a funny pictures site but although I get the selected picture page, the picture won't show.

Been in the AVG Control Centre but for the life of me can't see what I have to do, assuming it's AVG that's blocking things. I have never had this problem when I had the previous version of AVG.

I assume you have XP and that you made a restore point before you loaded AVG, did you?

If you did then go back to your last restore point and see if your pictures now show.
If not, uninstall AVG via the add/remove section in control panel and remove all of AVG's software and try again with your pictures.

Make a restore point if all is well so you have something to fall back on in future.

Now download AVG (free version) again and see if the problem still exists. I would also update your windows software but dont download internet explorer 7 unless you want it on your PC.

i think hs is trying to say ,did you back up first before installing AVG.

so you could return to that point to check if you can still see your pictures.:D

As for back up... I keep duplicates of all my files, if that's what you mean.

I have Opera now... I have tools then advanced, but no show pictures option...:o

I can see and download/upload to ImageShack some pictures, but I can't view the links peeps post - videos etc. AND I can't post smilies that I copy from other sites - all it copies is the URL address instead of the smiley.

Does it do the same in IE?

Are you saying that in any browsing session, you are unable to see any pictures of any sort?

Using Opera 9.01 here, the 'show images' setting is located under Tools\Preferences click on the Web Pages tab, then you have 'show images' in the box immediately infront of you. If this is the new AVG's doing, then the best thing to do is to open the program and find the 'support' forums and ask the question there. I sugest going through the program, as it will save you re-registering, but you can access the forums here: http://forum.grisoft.cz/freeforum/
