laying laminate flooring

Ive just had a new kitchen fitted by a joiner and he has also laid the laminate on the floor, he has no time to do the sitting room floor
which is run through straight from the dinette through a door. My OH is going to lay this floor but he is worried about cutting it (shaping it for the door hole and joining up with a brass strip. Is there an easy way to tackle this.

Use a template for the curvy bits and a jigsaw with a down cutting blade.

remove the skirting boards and replace with new afterwards. makes a far better job.
also trim off the door architraves at the bottom. use a scrap piece of laminate and use the saw flat on it.
then the laminate wil fit underneath.Get some gorm.0 -

If the OH is not confident to cut laminate then how's he going to mitre/scribe and attach the new skirting?
Replacement skirting seldom looks right and then there's the cost , mess and painting.
As already said use a cardboard template or buy a cheap profile guage for the tricky parts.
I find using white pvc quadrant gives a good finish for the expansion gaps ( no need to paint if you have white skirting ).Forgotten but not gone.0 -
If your husband is not confident fitting laminate then I would seriously think about getting someone else in to do if for you. What sort of laminate is it? If it is Pergo then I would def get the proffessionals in , due to the cost of pergo. Could the joiner do the job in 2 or 3 weeks? And could you wait that long? Properly fitted laminate has a much longer life span than not quite fitted properly. Not saying your oh cannot fit as i don't know him! HTH I don't fit laminate but do work for a flooring retailer so know a little!Need to sort my life out! :T0
