Oven - LPG to normal gas

I went to look at a new house yesterday and the current tenants have a massive double range oven in the kitchen connected to Calor Gas Bottles - they want £450 for the oven but i think it would be too big for me and id only use half of it. My current neighbours have offered me a lovely gas oven free of charge but i was wondering can i use a normal gas oven and connect to Calor Gas Bottles? Apparently there is an electric cooker socket at the new house so i have the option of Calor Gas or Electric cooker - which would be the best? The actual house is Oil Central Heating.

You should not connect an ordinary gas oven to Calor. At the very leas, the jets will be wrong. CXheck with the manufacturer to see whether a conversion kit is available.

afaik only the burner jets are different.
by the time youve bought a new set of jets (if available) and paid a fitter to do it, you could have a bought a new cheap cooker.
    Get some gorm.

Depending on the model you might get away with changing just the jets. However, on some the whole control valve assembly needs to be replaced, for each burner. It might not be worth it.

LPG is supplied at about twice the pressure of mains gas so probably not a good idea to hook it up and hope for the best.

New jets and possible adjustment on the minimum setting on the hob burner gas valves.

You WILL need an LPG registered RGI to do this.
