I did tack this onto another thread but no one replied before it is merged into the abyss.
I am currently eyeing up a Kenwood Chef. However, I am curious as to whether anyone has the prospero? It is the compact one and would suit me much better. I have seen some of the reviews on amazon but wondered whether anyone had first hand knowledge of using the smaller one.
Thanks very much.

I have this one and love it. I use it daily for mixing bread or mashing potatoes and it'll be making my coffee and date cake later on today.
I'd definitely buy another if/when it needs replacing. It's not perfect though. The food processor attachment is not as robust as a stand alone one but this is only a tiny niggle. I use the processor bit more than I used my stand alone one because the mixer lives on my work top, same with the liquidizer.
I've never owned the dearer model so can't compare which is better but IMO the Prospero is an excellent machine for the price"Who’s that tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.

That is the one I have been looking at but was just a bit concerned as the reviews said it wasnt robust and didnt mix properly (the negative ones) but I like the size of itand it would fit neatly in my kitchen.
How long have you had it?0 -

I've had it for about 2 years, maybe 3. I'd say it's only the Food Processor bit that isn't robust. When I first got it, I had problems getting it to cream butter and sugar together but that was my own fault because the butter needs to be at room temp.
Sometimes when I'm mixing things I need to scrape the sides down if you know what I mean? Again, that's no big deal though. I remember reading the same negative reviews when I bought mine. It really does get used daily and has taken a fair bit of hammer.
Mine lives neatly in a corner of my kitchen, with the attachments stored in the cupboard above it."Who’s that tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.

I have the Prospero too and think it's great. I wouldn't say I'm a heavy user of it, and I cook only for two, but it's coped fine with everything I've needed it too. It's also easy to clean, which is a bonus in my book.0

Hornet - there is only me most of the time but just want it to mix properly and I bake my own bread so that is the other use I want for it. Do you think that it will last 40 years like the normal Chef?0

I would say def the chef, because of all the attachments- you can make it do lots extra. You can pick up attachments on eBay.0
