Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 17th April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Bad night last night, hubby was up & down like a brides nighty, I think he had an upset tummy, but he's asleep now & I'll leave him until the GP starts.
There is a little bit of blue sky showing this morning, long may it last, yesterday was very overcast, we spent hubby's gift vouchers yesterday on a parasole for the garden, so he insisted we sat under it despite there being no sun.
Plans for today include clearing up the kitchen which is a mess as I made some scented candles yesterday from all the leftover scraps.
I'm making roast lamb for lunch & need to make another batch of biscuits for hubby for next week.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning everyone
Sun now shining, going to be a lovely day here again, washing will go out shortly, menfolk watching the GP. I'll go for a shower. Relaxing day today, lunch at mum's as family are home as it was dad's birthday on Friday, so good to catch up. DS 1 and 2 have Rugby End of Season dinner at 5pm so no cooking here for me, loving this! On OS theme I'm actively checking out the price guarantees from the 2 big SM and getting vouchers to reduce shopping bill - worthwhile spending a few mins doing this as no minimum spend required to redeem vouchers and you don't have to spend extra money to get the vouchers in the first place! Went to see our friends yesterday, they kindly lent us their lawnmower as ours has a petrol leak - DH will be cutting grass and taking it back to them at some point today. We're getting together with them next weekend for eats and drinks so that will be nice. Will be using the Easter weekend to get decorating finished, only started it in April last year, so would be nice to get it done!! Need to keep on top of everything as we now have so many bank hols etc and have lots of busy weekends. Have a great and relaxing Sunday everyone, remember the sunscreen!
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Looks like it is set to be another gorgeous day here. I was out in the garden pottering around most of yesterday and will go out again shortly as some more weeds have sprung up - how on earth do they grow so fast! Did some flower tubs yesterday and re-potted my tomato seedlings, so quite pleased with the results.
Have been invited out on a picnic this afternoon, not sure whether to go or not - will decide as day goes on, it will end up being mostly couples (although they are family) and now I am on my own sometimes feel like a spare part! I shall have to think about it.
Hope everyone has a good and sunny day

Morning Troops
Sorry to hear you aren't well BB. Hope you feel better soon.
HH, hope your DH feels better soon as well.
Sunshine, urgh! far to energetic for me, have fun though.
Just having brekkie with the boys and then I need to do a apple and berrry crumble for dinner at Dad's today. Then we all need to get showered and dressed for church. DH is staying home to pack the trailer tent.
I had a lovely surprise yesterday, the confirmation for the holiday arrived and it was £139 for the week, not £199 as I thought I had hears. So we only have £80 more to pay when we get there :T Which works out at £5 per person per night, super bargain :cool:BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Good Morning All
Looks set to be another beautiful day here too :j
The weather forcast for the next 5 days is great too:)
Will have another pottering day today. Possible may go and look over the local boot sale (its a lazy bones one luckily).
OH is having a day off from the garden today, its really coming together. Seedlings are all doing well too.
Not sure what to do for dinner, may even contemplate getting the barbecue out. Needless to say lots of washing will get done.
Hope everyone under the weather feels better and Good Luck to peeps doing the marathon. Seems there is quite a few from MSE.
Have a brill day.x0 -
Good Morning,
Sorry that I have been missing in old style action. I have been reading every day but have been to Center Parcs for the week so just back on friday. Washing galore and sorting almost done now. The weather was kind to us and we had lots of fun in the swimming pool with Mooloo's DGD. I was very proud of DD and DS3 who were absolutely brilliant with her and had lots of fun too :T:T:T
Back to reality. DD has to sort out her hours at work as they clash with her A levels. I fear that she will have to pack her job in if they cant be more accommodating and find someone else to do the papers early on Saturday mornings:eek::eek::eek:
I intend to do some baking this morning and have a general tidy round although it wasnt too bad a Kids Dad had kept it all in good order.
Hugs xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Hugs to all who need them have a good day0 -
Morning All,
Beautiful sunny day here as well:D
DH has gone to tow one of the cars back and hopefully the other will be ready to pick up on Monday. At least we will have one working car then.
Nice and quiet here, boys still in bed. Might even watch one of my recorded programmes while its peaceful.
Not a great day food wise yesterday, I just couldn't stop picking. Aunty flo vsiting but thats no excuse really. I always eat more when I'm stressed. I would never fade away like they do on the telly:rotfl:
Today we will carry on decorating the bedroom, got quite a bit done yesterday. Have decided to keep the carpet in there. We will be selling or renting after Christmas so it seems silly to change it when its not in bad condtion. We have made a vow not to waste a penny as every penny saved is another one for Australia:money:
Feel like I am getting a cold with a sore throat and cough but hey ho they don't usually last long with me.
Tea tonight is cowboy pie which is everyones favourite.
Have a good Sunday all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Beautiful start to the day here
I'm going to spend next 2 hours doing uni work (and watch the rest of the F1
), then have a break for a couple hours to get dressed, pop to Aldi/Lidl and then maybe a quick walk by the sea. Then more uni work til I go out tonight.
I'm meant to be going to cinema tonight with the girls, but it seems silly to go in this glorious weather, so may see if they fancy dinner instead.
OS wise - WM been on with clothes and towels, now drying on the balcony. Need to hoover.
Have a good day all
