Need home insurance for 11 days.

Our insurance - - buildings and contents - - - expires on 3rd Dec. and we move house on the 14th. I tried to get our insurers to extend our policy [ as advised by a kind MSEr ]but they would only consider a renewal. This would mean that we couldn't do a search for the most competitive quotes for next year.
Any advice please?

Take out a policy that allows you to cancel within 14 days.
Then cancel for a full refund.

Whilst you can cancel in the first 14 days of any insurance policy you need to check 1) if they charge you anything for those days/ cancellation fee 2) when they cancel it if they cancel it from the day you say or if they cancel it back to inception. Obviously the chances are slim but if you were to be sued under 3rd party liability and the policy had been canceled back to inception you would be on your own.

Alternatively just buy from the company that will be cheapest at your new address after considering their amendments fee and just do a change of address when you move

I *think* Barclays give a 14 day cooling off period. It would be perfect in this instance! And go through Quidco - you never know!
