Hi,
I am on Blueyonder wireless broadband for the last few years no probs at all.
The last 2 days my pc has been hijacked and cannot understand why.
I am running AVG and Adaware and Windows defender. Anybody any ideas as to why this is happening.Whn running scans nothing detected.
I dont understand enough to check what i am supposed to be looking for in the settings. Blueyonder have got me back, but i guess its a matter of time before it happens again. I have looked in the network connections but dont really know what i should be looking for. When i put the security details in when i log on it is encrypted and thought it was secure.
Anybody have any ideas, so i can check everything which should be correct.
Many Thanks

Hi
The symptoms i get is it is trying to connect but the blueyonder homepage is not there. It shows that is connecting to a different site. It gives the row of numbers at the bottom. The first time this happened it just directed me to a !!!!!! site. I cleared all cookies and temp files. I dont really understand pc's that much, but all my avg and adaware are up to date and run them daily. My firewall is enabled (windows one) Should i change to a different one? Is there a free one is zonealarm free?
This has all happened since i upgraded to IE7 so dont understand, as i have never had trouble with my wireless network. I have emailed Blueyonder to ask them what the settings should all say, and am wondering wether there is a second connection open. Something i clicked on said there is a linksys network open but dont know what that means.
Cheers0 -
in internet explorer, go to tools>internet options and in the first section where is saying homepage, change the www. !!!!!! address to https://www.blueyounder.co.uk
that should work0 -
linksys is the make of network hardware. how do you connect to the internet? is it thorough a network or straight into the phone line. do you connect to the internet when ytou want it or is it always on?0

It could be something as simple as your hosts file.
Have a look in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and there should be a file called hosts, open this with notepad and see what it says.
If it has lots of entries in there look for one called https://www.blueyonder.co.uk and see what IP address is listed against it.It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

Hi,
Just done a free trial with Zonealarm and it has detected gamespy arcade!
Thing is u have to register with them and pay to remove it. Does anyone know which free program would remove this spyware please?
Thanks0 -
it's a scam to get you to buy the software
you need to/MUST run the stuff i posted in this thread, posts 1 to 4
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....html?t=133269
all the software posted there is free to download and use
running in "safe mode" as it tells you in that thread allows the software to totally remove the infections that caused this
looks worse than it actually isEx forum ambassador

Hi,
Checked homepage and it does say blueyonder. At the moment my pc is ok!
I connect to Blueyonder wireless broadband when i need to via their connections methods using the Netgear MA101 USB adapter utility and ticking the enable encryption WEP Key and create with passphrase and 128bit
under the security settings. I only connect when i am using internet and always disconnect when not in use.
Thanks0
