creative vado hd problems

hey guys, a while ago i bought a creative vado hd handheld camcorder, and theres a strange problem with it, i havnt used it for a couple of weeks, and i went to recharge it, (it recharges when you plug it into a usb port on a computer), and when its charged, i unplugged it and it automatically stays turned on, ready to film, however, it seems that the when i press the off button the the side it doesnt work and i cannot turn the camcorder off. the only way to turn it on is to take the battery out.
i then tried to get it to turn off, but that doesnt work either, but i can get it to turn on bu plugging it into a computer then taking it out, (it automatically stays on), i can transfer files, record with all functions perfectly, but it seems that the on/off button just doesnt seem to work. ive tried everything i can, and theres no visible damage to the on button, and im sure i didnt drop it or anything.
i cant seem to find a recipt for the warrenty, and these things are very tedious, and to find a techie to fix it will cost money, and thy might not even fix it. can anyone with similar experiences help me?

Hi
did you ever work out what the problem was with your Vado HD?
I just stumbled upon your post while trying to find a fix for the exact same problem.
Literally my Vado is all of a sudden having the exact problem you mentioned - havent done anything to the device but all of a sudden the on/off switch has stopped working and i even experienced the same as you in that i had it working via connecting to the computer and then had to remove the battery to turn it off. Weird.
Anyway, I would really like to know why this is happening and if there is anything i can do about it. I dont have any valid warranty now.
Thanks
