Hi Guys,
I've got a 16gb sony MP3 walkman which i'm very happy with but is there anyway i can get some kind of converter cable so that i can plug it into an IPOD dock?
The standard connection cable ends in a USB plug, so is there any way of me getting something like a link cable that has a female USB at one end and the ipod connector at the other?
I'm looking to buy a new home stereo and lots have Ipod connectors but not USB and i'd like to be able to play off my MP3 player rather than old fashioned CD's!

put simply, no it's not possible.0

Use an audio cable to connect the headphone output on the MP3 player to the "audio in" sockets on the stereo.0

Or buy an iPod...0

I had the same problem, I finally gave up & bought an Ipod, thinking: Everybody has an Ipod, they must be good. I was so wrong, I now have a £100 lump a metal, that crashes any pc it is connected to. Do not get an Ipod you will regret it. You could try, getting a walkman dock, or a cradle as mentioned above. But other than that I don't know. It is possible to make a "Walkman-Ipod" converter, just nobody has bothered, because there wouldn't be a big market for them, as most people have Ipods.
Long Post, Especially for my first0 -
Can be done quite easily. This is what you need
http://www.amazon.co.uk/3-5mm-Stereo-Jack-Plug-1-2M/dp/B00077DC3S/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1303486202&sr=1-1
Check that your Ipod dock has a 3.5mm socket and then you plug this cable into your headphone socket on your MP3 and the other end into your Ipod dock0 -

Yes that's what I do at home. The mini jack socket on your ipod dock isnt a headphone socket, it's an "audio in" socket, which means it's for
connecting an external source, eg an MP3 player0
