@ Payless,
This is exactly the reason I have almost stopped posting completely on here. Why should I give up my free time when there is the constant accusation of personal gain?
I have become very intolerant of it all now and have just decided to simply post what is on my mind and to hell with whether people agree with it or not.
After all this forum is not about making lifelong friends or finding a new partner/s which some have forgotton, it is about moneysaving and helping posters.
If my chosen career means that I have expertise in an area then why should't I be able to freely post useful guidance without being discriminated against because of what I do for a living?
God this place is turning into a bloody playground and dating agency !!!!0 -

It's unfortunate that you have to adopt that attitude, but I very quickly learned here, that whatever you do or whatever assistance you try to give people, the original posters are usually gratefull, but there are others who just try and discredit what we do because...well.....I don't know why.
I gave some guy my thoughts on another thread on his mortgage position and he went right off on one because the answer he got was not what he wanted to hear. It seemed that he had been speaking to an "armchair" adviser and been given completely duff info. I told him it was duff (and I'm not one to waste 80 words when 8 will do so it may have sounded curt, it wasn't meant to be) and he called me a !!!!!! in a later post !!
Water off a ducks back to me because I tell it like it is and am uncontactable through this board anyway.0 -
ken ... please explain how my post ( that you called spam) is in fact any different to your own. ( the reason I posted)- just passing my thoughts as an "ordinary forum user" that a particular couple of brokers might be worth speaking to .....
I'm happy to play "tit for tat" as long as you are. ( sad I know, but I'm in one of those moods )
Didn't we get a ruling that telling people off for telling them to shop around was not allowed?
I make no personal gain , I have no signature ( as such) for ages, and no current weblinks of my own.Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
