Pre MOT mileage = post MOT mileage

Options
I recently put my car in for an MOT and when I went to pick it up, the mileage hadn't changed.

Aren't the mechanics supposed to take it for a drive to test it?

    Ok, sorry.

I thought they were meant to take it for a drive to test it.

I'd be more worried if it did come back with extra miles on! I know the place I use will use customers cars to pick parts etc up!

The only time they might drive it is if they have to use a tapley meter to test the brakes. But as most centres have rollers that are suitable for all vehicles then its not a problem (3 wheelers and permanent drive 4x4s tend to cause the problems)

Did your vehicles previously use to have extra mileage on them when you took them for MOT as its very rare for the cars to actually leave the premises.

Also cars with limited slip diffs need to be road tested for the brake test.
