53 plate bmw 316ti compact..advice please

My brother has the above mentioned car... broke down a few weeks ago and the AA advised that it needed both crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensor needed replacing .

He had the work done the other day, everything was running fine until yesterday morning, turned engine over and the dashboard lit up light blackpool illuminations.

Went out in car today,everything seemed fine, driving at 70 on motorway, battery light came on and car cut out then restarted right away.

He doesnt have internet access,hence why i am posting looking advice from anyone who may know what the problem might be .

Sounbds like a charging fault.

Battery or alternator perhaps?

Hi,

Harvey sounds right.
My Autodata CD3 says that you should check the battery terminals first (give them a clean etc)
If the problem still persists, then I would do a diagnostic check.

I'd be more suspicious of your new crank sensor being at fault.

He took the car and got both alternator and battery checked , both fine, will tell him to get sensors checked again
