Ah great stormbreaker thanks for that, I'll give them both a try now.
The last time I sent something by recorded delivery I had to go into a post office and do it there... no idea why there wasn't enough postage paid, but on the card it does say that the £2.35 includes a £1 handling fee for underpaid items. It's utterly ridiculous that the charge gets passed on to the person receiving the item. I'm getting penalised for someone else's negligence. Does this mean that I can just send ALL my post with no postage paid and the other person will have to pay for it and I can save £££? It's a shambles.Jan 2011 Wins: Rodial Crash Diet STICKS Feb Wins: CD - DVD - UNE Beauty Products - Book March Wins: BEAR Hibernation Hamper -Book Total Wins: £242.440 -

no you aren't. you have the option of collecting your item
or not,your choice
how would you like RM to do it?
return it to sender for charging there, how would you get your tickets in time then?
just destroy the item?
send all your items with no postage by all means, but you will find most people dont collect charge items
its a shambles because the company didnt put postage on the item, whine to them0 -
No offense meant - if it was up to me the item should be returned for payment by the person sending! I know I wouldn't have received my tickets on time then, but as it stands I don't think I'll have them on time anyway!Jan 2011 Wins: Rodial Crash Diet STICKS Feb Wins: CD - DVD - UNE Beauty Products - Book March Wins: BEAR Hibernation Hamper -Book Total Wins: £242.440

thats what happens, after the recipient gets the option to pay0 -
Fair enough. Just seems a bit harsh - I can pay out or I can not have it at all. I know it's not a lot of money but hey-ho, it's besides the point. It's a prize! It's supposed to be free lolJan 2011 Wins: Rodial Crash Diet STICKS Feb Wins: CD - DVD - UNE Beauty Products - Book March Wins: BEAR Hibernation Hamper -Book Total Wins: £242.440

I hope it is a prize after all this! The last recorded delivery letter I received was from an insurance company threatening to take me to court as my car insurance company had not paid out to them:eek:
The last item of mail I had to pay the postage on was from the rugby club. The coach had sent out newsletters in hugh envelopes, I had to pay £1.10 as did everyone on the team!
Any expensive ticket wins I have had, have come recorded delivery.0 -
The last time I sent an item RD, I had to go to the PO and the barcode was scanned so it is put in the system. Thanks for explaining how the postage could have been underpaid, I didn't know that.
I received WWE tickets yesterday morning, and they were sent by RD.Thanks to all posters :A0 -
just a quick note if you are getting someone else to collect the item for you, make sure you give them your id as well as the card or they may not be able to collect it ( trust me I am a postie) would hate for them to go all the way down with the card and the money and still be refused as they didn't have your id ( standard practice when collected a recorded delivery item) make sure it has your name and address on itBack after a long break!
Looking to get back in the winning way :j
Massive thanks to all who post comps!0
