Ok so here's the deal: I got a WEM on 11/04 to say I had won 2 tickets to WWE in Liverpool on the 18/04 from Click Liverpool, the email coming from an @mercurypress address. I was told in the email that my details had been passed on to the WWE Marketing team, and I would hear from them whether the tickets would be posted to me or if I would have to collect them on the night
I thought great, and posted on here my win.
I still hadn't heard anything the next day so I emailed back and was told that they had been told I would recieve my tickets in the post within the next three days (meaning yesterday at the latest).
I hadn't recieved anything yesterday so I fired off an email to say so, just to keep her in the loop.
This morning, I recieve no tickets, but a slip through the door saying 'Unfortunately we can't deliver your item because there's a fee to pay'. It is a Recorded Signed For item and I have to pay £2.35 for it. I have NO IDEA if this is my tickets or not - and the post office is already closed until Monday morning - the day of the event.
Neither me or my boyfriend is available to go to the post office on Monday morning, even on the off chance that this is the tickets. I don't really want to have to pay £2.35 to get some tickets to an event that I don't think we can attend now. I should mention that I'm not expecting anything else - I know I've won a CD from googling my name but I can't imagine they'd send that by recorded signed for.
What do I do? Do I have grounds to complain about this? I'm so devestated as I was really looking forward to going, and I've been stressing out about it all week.
Thanks in advance for any advice. I've been comping since part way through January this year and this is the second time I've been screwed around on a win

I appreciate your disappointment and frustration but if you can't attend is it worth stressing over?
If you really want to attend is there may be a way you can be put on a guest list. Try contacting the competition folk again by phone preferably or contact the promoters and see if they can help.0 -
Can you give the company a call to see if they sent the tickets recorded or not? Then at least you will have a good idea if this is your tickets at the Post Office. If it is your tickets they might refund the additional money you had to pay for the postage. I had to return a watch which I won asit was faulty and the company said that they would refund the cost of me posting it back to them.
Hope you get to go!0 -
Unfortunately I only have the email of the lady from Click Liverpool, she never gave me any details for the WWE Marketing Team who have sent out the tickets. I've emailed the lady and attached a reciept, and the email hasn't been read yet which, I can only assume, means she's not in the office today, unsurprisingly! I'm not too bothered about not being able to go, it's just disappointing as my boyfriend was excited, and had swapped shifts at work so we could get there in time. I think the thing that's upset me the most is the 'you'll be contacted' which I wasn't then 'the tickets will be there within three days' which they weren't... Nvm. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things!Jan 2011 Wins: Rodial Crash Diet STICKS Feb Wins: CD - DVD - UNE Beauty Products - Book March Wins: BEAR Hibernation Hamper -Book Total Wins: £242.440

I think thats awful, can't u give the PO card 2 a family member or friend 2 pick up 4 u on Monday?? The cost of paying for that is nextto nothing compared 2 cost of tickets and a good night out.2012 wins: meal out for 2, bouquet of flowers, bracelet, dress0

utterly frustrating so sad
id say yes you have reason for a complaint if youre sure the po item is from them
even at that you havnt received them in time given
id complain big time & hold out for an alternative or greater win
good luck0 -
Thanks. I'll see if I can get someone to pick them up, hopefully someone will be able to! Hopefully it is actually the tickets! It is a small price to pay for what could be 50-100 quid worth of tickets. OR it could be something even more awesome lol.
I'll see what happens with the email, though that's not going to be read until monday probably. I don't know if I'd trust them to put my name on the door properly after this haha, wouldn't like to drive all the way to liverpool for nothing! :eek:Jan 2011 Wins: Rodial Crash Diet STICKS Feb Wins: CD - DVD - UNE Beauty Products - Book March Wins: BEAR Hibernation Hamper -Book Total Wins: £242.440 -
I really hope everything gets sorted for you and you can go.
Just a quick question though, why do you have to pay extra postage for a recorded delivery item? All RD items have to go through the system now, so surely the proper postage would have been paid? I know it doesn't take much, but I'm confused! Thanks to all posters :A0 -

I'm guessing that they posted from a business rather than a private sender so they would have put the postage on themselves (probably after the price of postage went up and they didn't price it accordingly).0 -

Hope you get your tickets in time, remember if you are getting someone to collect from the PO for you that they normally ask to see ID, like a bank card before handing items over.:hello:0 -

system? you can put an RD directly in the post boxPurpleshoes wrote: »I'm guessing that they posted from a business rather than a private sender so they would have put the postage on themselves (probably after the price of postage went up and they didn't price it accordingly).
more likely no postage at all.
the item is £1.35 short
take 77p away for RD and you are left with 58p
the price of a 2nd class item up to 100g0
