You could go ask in the https://www.avforums.com , specifically the LCD forum but they will probably tell you that it would be easier to just use a seperate freeview box when using it in the UK.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
Yes i agree it would just be easier to hook up a freview or sky box to avoid thehassle:rotfl: :j :T :bdaycake: :xmastree: :bdaycake: :T :j :rotfl:0

NTSC is not compatible with UK transmissions. You might also have major problems if the TV is designed to run on standard USA power of 110 volts at 60 Hz since UK mains runs at only 50Hz (and 230 volts).0

I do not want to be the bearer of bad news but it is only the heavy duty items that you can use in the UK with few problems such as fridge, washing machine etc. That is because in the US every day items like hair dryer, iron, TV well anything you can be expected to plug in and pull our regularly run on 110 volts. The bigger items mentioned above are put in by electrician (well supposed to be) and you do not touch them again until you replace them several years later. In fact you need a totally different type of socket for an every day item to a heavy duty one.0

The tv will most likely only be NTSC and therefore will not display PAL. This isnt just a problem for the tuner but also for any device that you plug into it. You would need to by a converter- to be honest, the ones I have seen that are under £300 have been terrible quality, even the one for £600 I saw really wasnt good. Of cause the other option is to simply use it as a screen for a DVD player and get a DVD player that can output NTSC and buy all your DVDs from the states.
The other issue is the power as discussed. US uses 110 we use 230v... you can by converters but you are probably looking at £30 for a reasonable enough one so not too badAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
