Amazon delivery charges fiasco

I placed an order today with Amazon (since cancelled!) and was given several delivery options:-
Super Saver delivery taking 5 days longer than First Class - FREE
First Class for despatch next day - £3.34
Express - costing even more
When I chose the Super Saver a message informed me that the items would not arrive until after Dec 25th, so I then amended the order to First Class and it then told me that goods would be despatched tomorrow!
I contacted Customer Services, who then told me that the web site was wrong, and that they had no stock available for my items, but offered me a £2 voucher to use against a future order - I told them not to bother!!!

No reliance should be placed on the above.

I have received an email from Amazon.co.uk apologising for the error in their system - they tell me that this has been sorted, so I have re-entered my order and look forward to receiving FREE delivery within 7 days.No reliance should be placed on the above.0

This supersaver delivery thingy is a bit strange. I placed one order using it and it took nearly two weeks to arrive. The other one took just 4 days (and arrived at the same time as an item ordered on the same day that was supposed to be 1st class!). Would love to know how their system works!Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0

When I re-entered my order, I noticed that one of the items had increased in price, so I emailed Amazon, who again apologised and deducted £3!No reliance should be placed on the above.0

I have cancelled all of my orders with amazon, as I ordered on 17th November, put S/S delivery and waited. Have since been charged for delivery on and only 3 items out of 20 have arrived.
Have checked my account and it said that some of the items won't be here until july 2007!!!!!!!!!
They did offerme a couple of quid but I have told them that as they cannot fulfil my order I will now cancel my order, which I have done.
I find amazons service quite disappointing, especially as they had a spokesperson was on BBC news not long ago saying they were not going to let down customers.Proud to be me, proud to be who I am!!0 -
I think the problem with the supersaver delivery is in it lumps all your order together, so if you have a book out of stock for several weeks it holds the rest of the delivery back.
Ive never had a problem with the delivery but i think it varies around the country as to what service you receive ???
