If you get a message that you cant write to the hosts file then Press the SHIFT key, and whilst holding it RIGHT CLICK and select RUN AS (admin)

    I got that message.

Is the thing that I need to right-click somewhere in the Hijack program, or on my OS? I'm confused.

Edit: Oh, I see. Do you mean press shift etc before clicking on the Hicjack icon? I do that, and select "run as" but then there is no option for selecting "admin." It just goes straight to running the program. I've tried it twice like that now. Still the same.

RUN AS is running as admin. Sounds like what youve done is correct

  • Oh, I see. Well, I don't know if I was admin or not, but I managed to get a report. Is that sufficient?

What on EARTH is all of this crap? Why do I have what looks like sky telly on my computer?

    Sorry for the admin confusion

People see different things depending on whether theyre running Xp, Vista or 7

Im still a tad hungover. Ill check the log properly later (or maybe someone will jump in to have a look)

But theres nothing dodgy running that I can see at first glance. And that 'sky' thing you refer to is just a name - its a part of realtek voice manager (whatever that is?)

The only thing I do see that ive never seen before is this -
    O11 - Options group: [ACCELERATED_GRAPHICS] Accelerated graphics
Im assuming its fine. But really unsure as its a tad new to me that one.
