When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :D

Good morning everyone - it's the weekend :j:j

As usual it will be busy for me. There just aren't enough days in the week at the moment. I also need to get off my rear and actually do things rather than just think about them. Lethargy.....

So far today I have:
  • got DW running on Economy 7
  • got WM running on Economy 7
  • checked banking
  • checked for surveys
  • fed and watered the chickens and asked for 4 eggs today
  • claimed my £40 payout from OnePoll :T
I will also:
  • clean out chickens
  • go to allotment and plant 3 beds with potatoes
  • tidy up 'my' corner of the living room and look for the £5 note I know is tucked away there somewhere :o
  • get into the sewing room to do a piece of work for a customer
  • prepare business headed letter for my appointment with the bank during the week
  • catch up with friends by email rather than phone or text
  • meals from stores
  • have an NSD
I'll catch up tomorrow with an update and a Sunday list.

    Morning all,

Stuff I'm doing this fabulous weekend:
    • Making a to-do list. My OH is out all day so I'm catching up on jobs.
    • Check when car is due service and MOT and find out how much I need to budget for this
    • Check accounts- yesterday was pay day *yeay* and have paid min payments on cards by direct debit. Work out how much more to pay off now.
    • Reset heating as it can be on less now
    • Make something nice for dinner
    • Avoid the shops as it's half term holiday chaos here at the seaside anyway.

    • Think about May's budget

 Crikey it's going to be so tight! :( I put some stuff on the cc this month (the card I pay off in full) but looks like I won't be able to pay it all off now. :( I guess I could pay £100 off and still feel like I'm making some progress. Hopefully I won't need to use it in May so at least the balance isn't going up and up I can pay the rest off after May's payday. Eek.

    Morning all,

I'm up fairly early for a Saturday in the hope of getting more housework done - I've done soooo much tidying in the bedroom & study but there still seems so much to do! & I need to do the usual cleaning jobs in the bathroom & on the floors downstairs...but just can't be bothered :o

Stitchy - I know how you feel! Congrats on the onepoll payout, I am just over halfway there now but keep getting screened out on about a million surveys that ask if I have children, I am getting sorely tempted to lie as I'd probably be up to about £30 by now if I could answer them!
Aria - Congratulations! Must be a great feeling know you can close it soon :T
Candy - Have fun at the BBQ tonight
DNMS - Hope you find what you're looking for housewise!

    Today I have/will:-

    • [STRIKE]Heating off[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]OH has gone to do some overtime today[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Checked cashback [/STRIKE]- still disappointed as I can't claim the big amount yet from my free Equifax trial
    • [STRIKE]Checked for surveys[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Entered a competition[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Charge phone via pc[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Brekkie from stores[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Get a lift to my dads later - my sister has come down to see us so I don't know how DFW I will be today...will try though![/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]We are going for lunch somewhere later, will suggest somewhere cheap...[/STRIKE]
    • Check out freebies/comps boards
    • [STRIKE]Log calories on free app[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Log expenditure on free app[/STRIKE]
Have a great, moneysaving day everyone x

I will sip my beer in the pub tonight (Thailand + 7 hours GMT) making one drink last for the whole of the football match (Birmingham V Sunderland) I'm going to see.

Double bonus because it also means I'll be below the legal drink driving limit so I can ride my Yamaha Nouvo there and back saving on a taxi fare.
